  1. How much time do you think you look at your phone each day? What if you combined all screen time: how much time do you think you look at a computer, tablet, phone, or TV screen each day?
  2. The message introduced the idea that we live in an attention economy. How did this idea surprise or unsettle you?
  3. In what ways does your phone distract your attention? Be honest.
  4. Read the story of Mary and Marth again in Luke 10:38-42. How can you become more like Mary?
  5. The Common Rule suggests turning your phone off for an hour during three important times: with family and friends, at work, and to seek silence. Which of these is most challenging for you?
  6. What would you lose if you did not look at your phone the first and last 30 minutes of each day? What would you gain?
  7. What are other ways you might resist distractions on your devices?
  8. What are one or two specific goals you have for incorporating this habit into your life?
