Summer School, Now Open for Registration

At New Denver Church, we’re committed to growing together through small groups. But during the summer, our groups take a couple months off so that we can come together for Summer School. Summer School is our program of short-term classes that are designed to focus on one aspect of growing in our understanding and practice of the Christian life. Courses will begin on Wednesday, June 2nd and meet every Wednesday through June and July. We’ll provide dinner and child care so all you have to do is buy the materials! This summer we’re offering two classes – the Crown Financial Study and a study called 8 Crucial Questions. The Good Life, Part 2 – Some is Good; Is More Better?

The Good Life. Three simple words with very deep meaning. Just saying the words evokes complex thoughts, emotions, and desires. But what does it mean to really live the good life? How do you know how to get there? How do you know when you’re there? How do you stay there?
In week one we concluded that denying our desires wasn’t the way to find the good life. God created good things in life to enjoy, and that enjoyment is a gift from God. But if some is good, does that mean more is better? Should we indulge our desires and chase after all the things we want? This week we’ll continue looking at Solomon’s life through Ecclesiastes to find out what happened when he indulged himself in pursuit of the good life.

Easter

For some, the story of Easter is unbelievable, literally. Others think it really did happen, but celebrate it one day a year (with Easter eggs and chocolate to boot!) But if Jesus really rose from the grave, doesn’t that make it the defining event of the entire Christian faith? Is it enough to believe that Easter happened? Or does something change when we begin to believe in Easter?

Second Sunday Project for April

At New Denver Church we choose not to gather together for worship services on the Second Sunday of the month. Instead we choose to use the second week of the month to gather in our community to worship God by serving others. This month we will be serving Bonnie Brae Church, the church that allows us to meet in their facilities every week. Bonnie Brae Church has a rich history of serving the Wash Park and Bonnie Brae communities, but the past few years have been difficult. Their invitation for our church to meet in their facility flows from their desire to be good stewards of the building and location God has given them. Likewise we want our presence at Bonnie Brae to improve the resources there for everyone who uses them. Read more
