Holy Week at NDC

What is Holy Week?

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, when Jesus enters the city of Jerusalem, and ends with Easter, the day Jesus’ tomb was found empty signaling his resurrection. This week is singularly the most important to the Christian faith as we remember and celebrate Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Join us at NDC throughout the week to learn and reflect on the good news of Jesus Christ.

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday at NDC is April 10th at 8:30 & 10am. Register your kids for the 10am service here. This is the final Sunday of the season of Lent when we recall the day Jesus triumphantly enters Jerusalem on a donkey, claiming himself the Messiah, knowing full well what is to come in the next week. The people greet him with palm branches, a sign of victory, proclaiming, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.” (John 12:13).

Good Friday

At NDC, we are hosting a special Good Friday service on April 15th, 2022 at 7:30pm. This service is contemplative and somber as we reflect on Jesus’ death at the cross in preparation for his glorious ascension on Easter Sunday.

In addition to the in-person Good Friday service, there is an extra podcast available to prepare us for the gravity of Good Friday and why it’s important we take the time to honor it.  Listen here.

Good Friday for Families

Parents: we hope you will priortize attending our Good Friday service. We do not provide special children’s programming, but we encourage elementary-aged kids and older to attend at parents’ discretion. Of course, infants are welcome and the nursing room will be open for use.

We also know that some kids simply cannot attend because of age or the timing. We still want to help parents make it possible so we’ll even provide childcare reimbursement to help offset the cost for parents who hire a babysitter so they can attend. It’s a short form, but definitely worth it.

Easter Sunday

Join us for NDC’s Easter Sunday services at 8:30 & 10am to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection – the day that marks Jesus’ victory over death. We expect our services to be full, so come early if you can.

We are offering children environments at both services for ages birth through 5th grade, but please register your kids in advance for the 8:30am here and the 10am here. And gettting there a little early to check kids in always helps too.

After each Easter service, NDC is hosting Coffee in the Loft for attendees to gather, sip coffee, and enjoy some special treats. Stick around for the celebration!

We hope to see you during Holy Week at NDC.
