At New Denver Church, we strive to equip parents to be the spiritual leader of their families. We also recognize the importance of children being involved in environments on Sundays that will encourage them to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Each secure children’s environment is led by background-checked and trained volunteers!
We have age-specific environments for children which take place during our 9am morning worship service. (We do not currently offer childcare or environments for infants through 5th grade during our 5pm worship service.)
Waumba Land is our environment for babies and preschoolers. (“Waumba” is the Swahili word for “Creator”). Waumba Land is broken up into two rooms, one for children up to two years old, and one for children two to four years old. In the 0-1’s room, our volunteers play with and pray for your children. In the 2’s-4’s room, our volunteers run games, crafts, worship, and a Bible story.
UpStreet is where our children from Kindergarten through 5th grade meet in a blend of small and large group settings to learn about God and the Bible, have fun, and build friendships with other kids and adult leaders. In UpStreet, we journey through the Big God Story, learning about who God is, how He has related to humans throughout history, and how each of us has a part to play in His story!
We also know that as kids get older it’s important to be able to worship together as a family. So the last Sunday of every month, after you check your kids into UpStreet, they will come with you to the main auditorium to experience worship through songs together as a family. Once the music is done, the kids will head upstairs for their Bible story and small group time.
