Second Sundays

At New Denver Church, we believe that following Jesus means following his example – leveraging our time, our abilities, and our resources for others’ benefit, both inside and outside the church. We encourage you to get involved in what God is doing in the city – both at our church and in the community – and in the world. We are so committed to this as a church that we have dedicate the second week of the month to serving others. Every other week we will gather on Sunday to worship together, but the second week of the month we won’t be gathering at church on Sunday. Instead we will gather together in the city to be the church by serving our community. These projects won’t always be on Sunday, but we will always create opportunities to serve together during the second week of the month. We hope you’ll join us.

• Second Sunday Project for July

  

  This month we will be serving at Denver Rescue Mission (DRM), one of our local service partners. During the year, the Denver Rescue Mission provides shelter, food, clothing, education, Christian teaching, and work discipline to meet individuals at their physical and spiritual points of need. We will be volunteering at DRM’s Lawrence Street facility. Lawrence Street, DRM’s flagship facility, is a men’s shelter with 200 overnight beds, and an outreach location offering meals, clothing, free health care, and Client Services. On Sunday, July 11th we will be preparing and possibly serving a meal. We have a breakfast, lunch and dinner shift available:

  • Breakfast (5:30am-6:45am) – Click here to sign up.

  *Note: Minimum age for serving is 18 for the breakfast shift,  13  (with adult supervision) for the lunch shift, and 10 (with adult supervision) for the dinner shift.
