2700 years ago, Isaiah gave a message of hope to the tired and weary people of Israel. He told them that although things were dark, a new day was coming when things would get better. It all hinged on a child – born to be a king. So Israel watched and waited for this mighty king, but what they didn’t know is that before they needed a king, they first needed a savior.

God sent a wonderful counselor to a weary world. But what does that mean? Someone we can share our problems with? An advisor with a new plan for our lives? We could probably all use a counselor like that. But that’s not what God had in mind. Or what we truly needed.
