Summer School

At New Denver Church we believe that life change happens most consistently in the context of intentional relationships, and we help facilitate these connections throughout the year in our small groups that meet weekly in homes. But during the months of June and July our small groups take a break for Summer School. Summer School is an offering of groups and classes designed to address a particular topic or need. It’s a great way to connect relationally and to grow together in our spiritual journey.

Groups begin on Tuesday, June 7 and last from 6:30pm-8:30pm (unless otherwise noted on the schedule below). Groups last anywhere from six to ten weeks depending on the group.

Snacks are provided (feel free to bring dinner if you don’t get time to eat before class) and child care is as well (RSVP required for child care), and we only ask for you to cover the cost of each group’s materials (but please let us know if cost is an issue and we can discuss financial assistance to help you participate).

Crown Financial Ministries

Spiritual Life

What good is prayer? Can I hear from God? How do I grow deeper? Is it possible to live like Jesus? We all have ideas about how to grow spiritually. Some are dead on, and it’s likely others are dead wrong. Join us as we dig into the scriptures to explore the spiritual life – what is it, how do we pursue it, and how do we sustain it?

Duration: 8 weeks
Cost: $20 per person

Love and Respect

What does it take to have a successful marriage? In a society where over half of all marriages end in divorce we think pursuing the answer to this question is important to us as a community. In this group we will be reading the book Love and Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerich. Based on years of biblical and psychological research and his personal and pastoral experience, Dr. Eggerich explores the power of unconditional love and unconditional respect and how husbands and wives can reap the benefits of marriage that God intended. This is a study that focuses on marriage, but this group is open to anyone who wants to learn more about the principles of healthy marriage – married, engaged, dating, divorced, or single people are welcome.

Duration: 8 weeks – begins 6/7, ends 8/2 (no class on 7/26)
Cost:
Only the Love and Respect book is required ($13.41 on Amazon) or free on loan from the Denver Library (7 copies available).
