Shift, Part 1 – Never Satisfied
September 22, 2009
Purpose. Identity. Success. Contentment. These are some of the greatest goals in life, but we often go looking for them in all the wrong places. In fact, we easily get focused on the very things that lead us in the opposite direction. Perhaps we simply need a shift in perspective to get us headed in the right direction. Join us October 4th, October 18th, November 1, and November 15, at 6pm at Hope Community Church (1801 S. Logan St), for this four-part series as we look at one man’s shift, how it transformed his life, and how it can transform ours as well.
Connecting with an Invisible God
September 6, 2009
This weekend, I’m teaching on what it means to connect with an invisible God. Bottom line: Intimacy requires intentionality.
1. Decide if God is a priority. If he is, then, 2. Discover your style of connecting to him (scripture, prayer, and what?). And 3. Do something! Establish a routine (time and place) and experiment with different methods.
Following are a few resources to pursue this further:
Beginner resources:
1. The Life You’ve Always Wanted, by John Ortberg
2. Reaching for the Invisible God, by Philip Yancey
3. Sacred Pathways, by Gary L. Thomas.
Advanced resources:
1. Handbook to Prayer, by Ken Boa.
2. Living the Christian Year, by Bobby Gross
3. A great series of blog posts on spiritual disciplines…
4. A teaching series on spiritual disciplines…
Enjoy and let us know how you apply this!
A Special Community Gathering
September 3, 2009
Join us this Sunday for our monthly Community Gathering. The Community Gathering is an environment to connect with others, hear what is happening at New Denver Church, and to worship and grow together. This week Jason Malec will lead our teaching with the last installation in the Summer School series. Danny Oertli will be joining us this week to lead musically. Danny is a fantastic guy and a talented worship leader who has agreed to lead worship with New Denver through the fall. We also have an exciting announcement this week about some things that are coming this fall for New Denver Church. So you don’t want to miss this week! Join us on Sunday at 6pm at Hope Community Church (1801 S Logan St).

If you live in Denver, we would love to get to know you, let you get to know us, and answer any questions you may have about the church. So let us buy you a cup of coffee! Just
