First of the “lasts”
November 9, 2008
It has begun. The beginning of the “lasts.” This past Thursday was our “last” Fall at the Farm, which is a fun annual event where all North Point Ministries families get together for some bbq, sweet tea, cotton candy, funnel cakes and lots of those inflatable jumping things. (Doesn’t that sound like an explosive combination?!) As we walked around, Meredith and I reminisced about all the fun times we’ve had each year (we recalled seven!), and how much we’ll miss all these people.
And then yesterday, Norton, Stephen and I participated in our last annual NPM group leader training event, called Re:Group. Near the end of the event, where nearly 900 leaders gathered for a full day of dynamic equipping, Bill Willits (our boss) brought us up on stage to thank, celebrate and pray for us. It was humbling, honoring and very emotional for all three of us (and for Bill).
So, while these many “lasts” are sad on one hand, on the other, they’re catalysts for us to celebrate all that God’s done in our lives through each of these people, events and teams. May we take advantage of these last days to thank each one of you for your part in our lives!
