For Robert

So, Janis and I spent the last 4 days in Denver looking for a new house. It was a crazy trip with lots of ups and downs, and I won’t bore you with the details. The good news is that it looks like we found a great house (we’re still waiting on the final offer to be accepted) and we have lots to be thankful for! But the most memorable experience of the trip was reconnecting with our old car mechanic, Robert, and being reminded of just why we’re starting a new a church in Denver. Read more
Hunting for a house in Denver
October 20, 2008
Quick update and prayer request… Janis and I sold our house in Atlanta (yeah!) and will be moving to Denver in late December. So, this Wednesday, we’re flying out for a few days to hit the pavement and look for houses. Our goal is to find a great place to live, in a great neighborhood, and for a great price!! So, please pray that we would be successful, and ultimately, that we would exercise wisdom and good stewardship. And don’t forget to pray for the Reddens and Malecs who are still hoping to sell their houses soon. Thanks!
Cool Denver Connection

Stephen and I participated in a mini-conference today called Sundays at North Point (even thought it’s monday). It’s an opportunity for church staff and leaders to visit our church and get a behind the scenes tour of how everything works. It’s always an encouragement to hear these guests react to what we’re doing, and, more importantly, how excited they are to take it back and personalize it for their context.
Anyway, after our teaching time, I met a guy named Josh Weidmann. Josh is an associate pastor at Colorado Community Church in south metro Denver. He introduced himself, and then proceeded to share his excitement about our coming to Denver to start a church. He reiterated numerous times how he and the staff of CCC would do all they could to help us out in any way they could.
I write this because 1) obviously, we hope every church leader has the same reaction and views us as partners in kingdom-building, and 2) I hope I am as encouraging as Josh was to folks coming to a new place. He literally could not have been more gracious and courteous. So, thanks Josh!

If you live in Denver, we would love to get to know you, let you get to know us, and answer any questions you may have about the church. So let us buy you a cup of coffee! Just
