God’s upside-down economy
September 30, 2008
Yesterday was not a great day for Wall Street, but it was a great day for our new church. After Congress failed to pass the proposed bailout plan, the markets responded with the largest single-day point drop in history for the Dow Jones industrial average. So why was this a good day for our church? Read more
Doing double-duty
September 22, 2008
As we all prepare to move west and begin this venture, life is fun but complex. All of us are still working in our respective jobs at NP, and doing what we can at night or on weekends to focus attention on Denver and staying connected with the core contingency there. Here’s a pic of the fellas preparing a vision letter we’re sending to bunches of folks. (Let us know if you haven’t received one.)
Of course, our wives are working equally hard or harder, while having to keep the house ship-shape just in case an agent or prospect home-buyer drops by.
Though it’s complicated at times, we’re excited about this season of life, and anticipating all that’s in store!
What are our distinctives?

But, I have to say, I was looking forward to our first one. And the main reason is because we have such doggone cool elders. There are five, including Stephen, and they all represent very different perspectives.
Amazing!!
September 6, 2008
So, Janis and I put our house on the market last Monday morning about 10 am. Given the current market conditions, we were preparing for the long haul…constantly lowering the price, keeping the house clean, figuring out what to do with the kids when someone wanted to come over and look at it, and waiting months for something to happen. So, we were pretty shocked by how the first day on the market turned out… Read more
A great send-off
September 5, 2008
Last weekend will go down as one of my fondest “farewell moments” around North Point. I had a great opportunity to share a little about the vision for the new church in Denver with about 800 people at North Point Ministries’ (NPM) Singles Labor Day Retreat. My good friend Joel Thomas, Director of Singles for NPM brought me up at the end of the weekend to share my story and pray for me.
